How to create a memorable website using embedded media

What are you most likely to remember? A few paragraphs on how to fix a burst pipe OR a fun infographic filled with images (perhaps a video showing a customer how to properly use Drano)? Visuals and other forms of non-text media are super effective in creating a lasting impression. If you have a website or a blog, you understand the importance of having non-text-based media at your disposal. And why not! When you use images (or other visual media), your customers are 85% more likely to remember the information.

Does that mean you have to create relevant visual media every time you post something? Not necessarily! You can use embedding to share relevant content on your website…which significantly improves SEO!

You can even use third-party apps, like SnapWidget, to create feeds (like your Instagram or Facebook timeline) and embed it directly on your website. It literally takes a minute and you’ll have a portfolio that updates itself every time you post something new to your social media timeline!

What is Embedding?

Basically, it’s a block of HTML code that you can add to your website to show some sort of media. Before you close this page after reading the word ‘code’, you can rest assured that on top of being extremely easy to do, it will pay massive dividends to your bottom line. Social media posts were designed to be shared, and the social sites make it super easy to embed their content on your website using their built-in code generators.

Basically, you just need to find an embed or share button and copy the generated code.  Contact us if you need help finding what you need to make your website stand out.

Once you copy the code, you need to add it to your website. We’ll show you how to do so on a Phyxter website. (It’ll be similar on most website builders)

  1. Just add an HTML code block in the place you want the content (a new blog post, for example)
  2. Paste the copied code
  3. Save the changes made.

That’s it! Wasn’t that super simple? You can use embedding to share the amazing pictures you took of your piping layout and posted on Instagram. Or maybe you want to share the informational video about tools every electrical apprentice needs. Whatever content you want, you can add it to your website!
