Increase Your HVAC Sales Using Facebook Pixel - Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Facebook advertising is currently on the rise. Over 6 million businesses use Facebook ads to reach their target audience (Facebook, 2019) – this is a 2 million increase since 2016. Facebook advertisements also consistently ranks as the number 1 social advertising channel for both B2B and B2C businesses. If Facebook advertising isn’t a part of your marketing plan, it should be.

A super-easy first step you can take towards Facebook advertising is adding a Facebook pixel to your website. If you’re confused, don’t worry! This blog will tell you what a pixel is and how to add it to your website. So, let’s get started!

According to Facebook, “When someone visits your website and takes an action (for example, buying something), the Facebook pixel is triggered and reports this action. This way, you'll know when a customer took an action after seeing your Facebook ad. You'll also be able to reach this customer again by using a custom audience. When more and more conversions happen on your website, Facebook gets better at delivering your ads to people who are more likely to take certain actions. This is called conversion optimization.”

Basically, you know those “our website uses cookies” thing that pops up? Facebook pixel is one of those. Every time someone comes to your website, it’ll collect data on who they are, what they clicked on (for example, submitting the contact us form or filling the new customer discount form).

Even if you currently aren’t using Facebook ads, the pixel will still work and collect data so that when you’re ready to start, you won’t have to face any roadblocks!

PART 1: CREATE Your Pixel

Step 1: Go to your Facebook Business page and click on “Go to Business Manager to Manage this Page”. This will take you to the business manager.

Step 2: Click on the Hamburger Menu > Events Manager > Pixels

Step 3: Click on Create a pixel

PART 2: PLACE it on your website

PART 3: CHECK that the Pixel is working (For Google Chrome only)

Step 1: Install the Facebook Pixel Helper – a Chrome Plugin.

  • Go to the Chrome Webstore

  • Search for Facebook Pixel Helper
  • Click on “Add to Chrome”
  • Click on “Add Extension” once prompted

Step 2: Visit your website and click on the Pixel helper icon on the address bar

  • If the Pixel Helper finds a pixel on your site and there are no errors, then you're ready to start creating Facebook ads with your pixel. It should look something like this:
  • If you see a notification that no pixels were found on your site or that there's an error, then check out the troubleshooting section on Facebook for more help.

That’s it! Wasn’t it super simple?
