Why Won’t My Toilet Flush Completely?

From clogs to inadequate maintenance, there are many reasons why your toilet is struggling to do its job.

You have a Clogged Toilet

Clogs in toilets are a common issue and can be the cause of why your toilet won't flush properly. Luckily, there are ways to identify and remedy the problem yourself.

Quick Tip!

Toilets are designed for human waste and toilet paper, and that’s it! Too much toilet paper, paper towels, cotton balls, and flushable wipes are not meant for your septic system.

Blocked Inlet Holes

Your bowl has small inlet holes that allow water into the bowl. Over time, these can get clogged with mineral deposits, debris, and harmful bacteria.

Check the Toilet Flapper

The flapper is a rubber valve located inside the toilet which lifts up when you flush. Over time, it can twist or warp which will cause the toilet to constantly leak water.

Water Level in Your Toilet Tank is Too Low.

If your toilet isn't flushing all the way, it could be a problem with the adjustment of the float ball or float valve.  This is an easy one to fix!

Poor Toilet Design or Installation

Your toilet may have been installed incorrectly, or it’s super old.  This could be an easy or a hard fix so its best to call a plumber for this one!
